Experienced programmers Ethan Xu and Evin Liang led two week-long classes, Introduction to Python and Projects in Python, from August 5-9. The Introduction to Python course provided beginners with a solid foundation in Python programming, while Projects in Python offered intermediate-level coders the opportunity to work on different projects. Both classes were well-received, attracting a total of 10 enthusiastic students.
Learn to Solve Rubik’s Cube
From August 19-22, talented rising 8th graders Nathan Xu and Luke Wang led a Rubik’s cube workshop for children ages 10 and up. Under their guidance, students mastered solving 2×2 and 3×3 cubes and pushed themselves to tackle more advanced challenges like 4×4 and even 5×5 cubes. The workshop was a hit, with participants not only having a great time but also gaining a new lifelong skill and hobby.
LexYouth Spring and Summer Workshops
In April and August 2024, LexYouth hosted a series of educational workshops that brought together students from across the country—even as far away as California! These workshops offered young learners grades 3-8 the chance to dive into subjects like creative writing, competition math, and debate.
LexYouth Summer Science Courses
Kevin Zhang, Alex Chen, and Yinghan Liu, three rising freshmen who ranked among the top 10 in the National Science Bowl competition, delivered a series of lectures this summer covering Biology, Earth and Space Sciences, and Physics.
LexYouth Keys to Success Seminar
On August 11th, 2024, CALex and LexYouth organized the Keys to Success Seminar. The seminar, hosted by Elissa Fan, invited four panelists, Joanna Liu, Athena Wang, Jolene Cai, and Alice Yin to share their experiences throughout high school and college applications.
