LexYouth Spring and Summer Workshops

In April and August 2024, LexYouth hosted a series of educational workshops that brought together students from across the country—even as far away as California! These workshops offered young learners grades 3-8 the chance to dive into subjects like creative writing, competition math, and debate.

The LexYouth Student Education Council organized these workshops, led by Joanna Liu, Jolene Cai, and Emily Wu. These classes helped raise the funds for future LexYouth activities and continue offering more learning opportunities.

Eight dedicated high school instructors, including scholastic writing gold awardees, the LHS debate club president, school paper editors, and math competition winners, led the workshops. With two instructors assigned to each course, the sessions were tailored to different age groups, making sure every student felt supported and engaged. Conducted virtually via Zoom, each class featured detailed lesson plans, daily updates, and small class sizes of 1-4 students.

Having received a lot of positive feedback from these workshops, LexYouth is considering launching weekly one-hour sessions in similar subjects, with small class sizes of just 2-3 students. This would allow for more personalized learning, with a small donation fee to support the program.

A big thank you to everyone who took part in and supported these workshops. LexYouth is eager to welcome even more students to future events and continue building on this success. Stay tuned for more details on these new opportunities!
