On May 26, 2024, the Youth Marketplace returned to the Lexington Visitors Center Lawn for the second year in a row. This event supported youth entrepreneurship, ingnited the spirit of innovation, and provided children with an opportunity to give back to the community. Participants showcased and sold their homemade creations. The event was once again a great success and created a joyful atmosphere for all.
Maui Fire Disaster Relief Fundraiser
On May 19th, dozens of LexYouth Volunteers worked together to raise money in the aftermath of the Maui Wildfires. During the morning and afternoon, volunteers walked up and down the streets of Lexington Center, encouraging citizens to raise funds to help Maui rebuild and recover.
Youth Marketplace
On Saturday, August 19th, LexYouth hosted its first Youth Marketplace event on the Lexington Visitors Center Lawn. Twenty-six youth-run booths were set up during the morning (10 AM – 12 PM) and afternoon (12:30 PM – 1:30 PM) sessions of the event. While these booths came from various backgrounds, with younger kids and older teenagers alike, each booth sold unique handmade items, from handmade jewelry, to cloth bags and acrylic charms, to candles and art pieces—the Youth Marketplace allowed kids to engage in crafts they were interested in as a venue for expressing themselves and learning business fundamentals.

CALex/LexYouth Shines in the Lexington Patriots’ Day Parade
Rain and drizzle didn’t dampen spirits of CALex members in Lexington’s Patriots’ Day Parade on 4/17 with many other groups. Led by lion dances and followed by a dragon float, an upbeat group waiving balloon bouquets, and Wushu students, our unit was cheered on by bystanders.
LexYouth Volunteers Spearhead Effort to Support Earthquake Victims
Fifteen LexYouth volunteers — part of the Chinese Association of Lexington (CALex) — joined forces last week to raise money to support victims of the recent earthquakes in Syria and Turkey.
Greeley Village Christmas Concert
Volunteers from CALex and LexYouth held a Christmas concert for Greeley Village senior living.
Thanksgiving Food Delivery
Continuing the tradition of previous years, CALex organized volunteers to help the Lions Club deliver Thanksgiving meals to senior residents. This year, more than 110 residents in more than 70 households received Thanksgiving lunch.
