On May 26, 2024, the Youth Marketplace returned to the Lexington Visitors Center Lawn for the second year in a row. This event supported youth entrepreneurship, ingnited the spirit of innovation, and provided children with an opportunity to give back to the community. Participants showcased and sold their homemade creations. The event was once again a great success and created a joyful atmosphere for all.
LexYouth Summer Python Classes
Experienced programmers Ethan Xu and Evin Liang led two week-long classes, Introduction to Python and Projects in Python, from August 5-9. The Introduction to Python course provided beginners with a solid foundation in Python programming, while Projects in Python offered intermediate-level coders the opportunity to work on different projects. Both classes were well-received, attracting a total of 10 enthusiastic students.
Learn to Solve Rubik’s Cube
From August 19-22, talented rising 8th graders Nathan Xu and Luke Wang led a Rubik’s cube workshop for children ages 10 and up. Under their guidance, students mastered solving 2×2 and 3×3 cubes and pushed themselves to tackle more advanced challenges like 4×4 and even 5×5 cubes. The workshop was a hit, with participants not only having a great time but also gaining a new lifelong skill and hobby.
